The Latest Trend That Venue Owners Actually Don’t Need Right Now
Have you heard the latest buzz? The new thing everyone is talking about?
Texting & Automations
This topic is trending right now in our industry.
Why? Because, it’s rumored to be the solution to all of our problems in our business.
And yet, as a Venue Coach and Venue Owner myself – Who hosts over 100 weddings a year – One of the very first things we tell our coaching clients is to NOT text their couples.
The truth of the matter is, finding more ways to annoy your couples is not going to help you sell more weddings. (And even if it does – it’s certainly not the only way – or the easiest way).
Consider this:
Once you give clients text message access to you, they’re going to expect prompt replies (even if you set an auto responder for office hours – trust me, the expectation is still there).
You’re creating another channel to keep track of – this makes things more complex with not just keeping track of important information, but also from a team perspective, if you want to grow and scale your business so that it’s NOT built on your back.
If you forget or lose track of this time-sensitive and client-specific information – That’s on you.
Creating more places to potentially lose important information and granting clients 24/7 access, is just like asking for a headache and making things more complicated than they need to be.
So what should you do instead?
Build your business around your ideal client
Price your venue correctly and know how to effectively communicate your value to them
Set your business up in a way that couples want to book, so you don't have to sell.
Set the right expectations for your clients and hold boundaries that help set your team up for success.
If this sound more like you – If you want to grow and scale your business in a way that brings you more joy – If you want to learn how to serve and impact more of your ideal clients, without meaning more time away from your family –
